Here are the rules to our silhouette shoot: Rules
3-6-10
Nineteen folks had a pleasant Saturday for shooting the 2nd .22 Silhouette match. A little 6-8 mph breeze caused a few misses, but everyone shot pretty well!
Even though we had 19 shooters that put us into a third relay, everything moved along well (and safely) that had the match finished in two hours.
Several of the shooters put all 10 pigs down & pretty impressive shooting on the others considering we do not use sighter shots- that first shot is always dicey!
There was a three way tie SHOOT OFF for first place. David Pook, Dick Trudeau and George Holoshek all had 30 out of 40 animals down by the end of the match. So, the shoot off was each of them shoulder to shoulder shooting at five chickens each to see who would have the most down after five shots. It stayed a three way tie for awhile with one chicken each, but David finally put two more down for the WIN!
Jerry Pitts (fighting a chest cold) & I did not shoot it this time & took turns in Range Officering. Jerry still has the range record with a 35 from last month & so far is our only Master shooter. Bev Martin also still holds the range record of 8 chickens, also from last month. It was cooler then, but not much wind.
So, if you want to give it a try, we have room for 32 shooters, bring your .22 LR rifle out the first Sat. of next month at noon. I left a copy of outlines for the sizes of the animals with Tom Neth @ ESE if you want to make a copy & get some sight settings at the range. ..Dennis
